Jack's Comments:

We've all heard horror stories about the crappy stripe kits on the market or old dried up NOS kits that can be even worse but now their is an option although its not cheap. My buddy who owns a professional Mustang restoration shop finally had enough with the kits on the market and decided he could do better and made his own. He doesn't have time to market them himself so we have been asked to be his dealer.  Here is him explaining.

After purchasing several kits, 1 NOS stripe kit and 2 old Marti stripe kits, I have had a correct stripe kit reproduced with the correct gold side reflective premium 3M vinyl. A close Friend has a custom wrap business and I approached him to make these kits out of the best 3M premium vinyl material, Non shrinking and correct gold reflective material and include the factory indexing markers on the paper. He installed the Ford service part numbers on the paper backer so we couldn't mix them up. These are freshly cut and will ship in a flat hard package not in a 16 x10 x 8 package like Ford motor parts did. The stripes have the cut indexing markers too to correctly position the vinyl on the vehicle in the proper location.  ~Bob

Armond says he prefers to use the modern urethane option for most restorations because it's so durable and won't be affected by waxes, bird droppings, etc. If applied correctly it's hard to tell the difference. If you're going for a high-level trailered show only restoration you may consider the factory lacquer paint to be 100% accurate.
