This is a very accurate reproduction head coil mounting bracket with the correct gray phosphate finish. This bracket was painted Ford Corporate Blue on the engine after it was mounted on the drivers side head (see note 1 below).

Concours Notes:
1) According to Bob Perkins this bracket was plated gray phosphate, mounted to the drivers side head at the engine plant and then painted on the engine. Survivor and NOS engines show a little gray phosphate on the back side and and edges since the factory engine paint system didn't get every nook and cranny. 2) The welds that hold the nut are not done exactly like the originals but are very very close and they are on the backside so they are not easily seen.

3) The steel plate is laser cut vs die stamped. Really not noticeable once painted but we wanted you to know.

4) The bolts on the NOS engine are not typical of 1970 production. The NOS engine could have built later in the seventies so they hardware may have changed. The bolts seen in Bob Perkins post is what we normally see on original engines.
