Jack's Comments:
This thin board was placed on top of the right side (passenger) of the gas tank to protect the gas tank from the spare tire rim and keep it from rattling. To hold it in place the assembly line worker would commonly take a roll (approx 7-10") of gray body sealer roll (included) and lay it on the gas tank in a "C" shape. He would then place the board on the tank and press hard to compress the gray sealer. See the pictures of original trunks for board location. After the anti-rattle board was put in place the underlayment was installed, then the trunk mat.
BOSS 429 Info: This board was in all Mustang/Shelby including 1969-70 BOSS 429's that had the spare on the drivers side.
Concours Correct Issue:
This board is the same as originals except they are smooth on both sides vs cross hatch patter on the bottom side of originals. Not shown when installed but we wanted you to know.
