This is everything you need to rebuild your stock 1969-70 BOSS 429 water pump. You will need a press and the correct press accessories to install the seal without damaging it. No instructions included.

Bearing, Bearing Seal (one piece), Gaskets for backing plate, Impeller, Fan Hub

NOTE: Please check your pumps dimensions against pictures 3 and 4 before ordering. If the seal looks a little different than yours, it is because it's a new & improved, longer lasting double seal version.
NOTE: Original cast iron impellers cannot be used with this kit without machining or grinding down the impeller hub to create enough clearance between the impeller and seal (see more info below).

TIP 1: Use a little Permatex Form-a-Gasket #1 to help seal the water pump bearing and seal to housing. 
TIP 2: If your pump has its original cast iron impeller you will need to machine down (grinder also works) a small amount of the hub to provide clearance between the seal and impeller. You can avoid this by replacing the factory cast iron impeller with the provided service impeller. This service impeller has proven to be as good as the factory impeller in our experience. 
TIP 3: To avoiding damaging the seal during installation we suggest purchasing the seal and bearing install tool.

Q: What sealants do you recommend?
A: Many manufactures have sealants that will work. We use the following sealers when we rebuild pumps. Permatex Red Threadlocker 27140 (bearing > housing), Permatex Form-a-Gasket #80008 (water pump seal outer ring to pump housing), Gasgacinch Gasket Sealer 440-B (backing plate, pump > block gaskets, and bypass tube)

Q: Why do you include a new impeller with this kit?
A: This kit uses a thicker one-piece cartridge style seal vs the factory thinner two-piece seal/seat that must be used on original cast iron impellers. Two-piece seal/seat install process requires equipment and skills that only professional water pump rebuilders have available. The one-piece seal and the included impeller are easy to install for most hobbyist.
