This water pump seal is for a 1968-79 Ford factory cast iron 385 series engines. Fits the following pump casting numbers:

Water pump Casting #: C8SE-8505-D or C8SE-8505-E (1969-70 Boss 429, 1968-69 429, 460) short nosed hub
Water pump casting #: DOOE-8505-A, D2VE-8505-B,A or D5VE-8505-AA (1970-79 429 & 460) long nosed hu

Tip: We recommend using form-a-gasket sealer and the proper tool to install this seal.  This seal should have a 50% pre-load compression and never make contact with the impeller.
