This is the most accurate 1966 289 V8 alternator wire harness that connects the alternator to the main engine compartment harness. There is a less expensive reproduction on the market but its a lower quality import with poor color matched boots.

See second for concours correct installation. Ford used the plastic coated clip (most common but not reproduced) and also a metal vinyl coated clip harness retaining clip. Both are considered correct but only the less common metal vinyl coated clip is available in reproduction. We have also seen the ID tag located on either side of the clip on original survivor cars and NOS wire harnesses. Note: the black and red wire that disperse in the picture gets bolted to the block with the battery ground.
